Acts 10
Summary. In this chapter, we see miracles from the Lord God Almighty happening: visions are given to Cornelius, an outsider, and Peter, the apostle, and the miracle of the Holy Spirit baptism with speaking in tongues is given to the Gentiles. Acts 10:1-8. Cornelius' vision. Cornelius, a faithful man, was chosen by the Lord God Almighty to receive the good news about the Lord Jesus Christ through Peter the apostle. So, an angel of God came to him in a vision and directed him to call Peter to his house. Acts 10:9-16. Peter's vision. The Lord God Almighty prepares Peter for the miracle work that is ahead of him; the Lord God Almighty gives him a vision of a vessel full of creatures coming down from heaven to show him that He is no respecter of persons and He loves all and wants His Son Jesus Christ to be proclaimed to all for the salvation of their souls. Acts 10:17-23. Peter meets the men sent by Cornelius. The Holy Spirit gives orders to Peter about the men sent by Cornelius, and the peace comes to his heart and his mind. Peter talks to the men, and he now understands the vision: the Lord God Almighty wants him to proclaim the Lord Jesus Christ to the Gentiles. Acts 10:24-33. Peter meets Cornelius. Cornelius, a faithful man, gathers all his own family and friends to hear the good news from the apostle. At the house of Cornelius, the Lord teaches Peter that He loves all humans He has created, and the purpose of joining with foreigners counts to the Lord, not the fact that they are foreigners. Acts 10:34-43. Peter proclaims the Lord Jesus Christ to those at the house of Cornelius. Peter, as a witness to the work of the Lord Jesus on earth, of His death on the cross, of His burial, of His resurrection from the dead on the third day, and of His sending of the Holy Spirit, testifies to the house of Cornelius that God the Father has ordained the Lord Jesus as Judge of the living and the dead. Acts 10:44-46. The Holy Spirit falls on those listening to Peter. The Gentiles received the Holy Spirit, which was a miraculous event for them. The Holy Spirit is a miracle from God Almighty, and all believers in the Lord Jesus will receive the blessings if their hearts are open. When the Holy Spirit falls upon someone, that person will also receive the gift of speaking in tongues; this miracle will strengthen their faith. Acts 10:47-48. Those being baptized in the Holy Spirit are being baptized in the water. To fulfill the salvation of their souls, these people were baptized in the water in the name of the Trinity of God.

devout and fearing God with all his household, doing many alms to the people, and praying to God always.

He saw in a vision clearly, as if about the ninth hour of the day, an angel of God coming to him, and saying to him, Cornelius!

Then, while Peter was perplexed in himself what the vision that he had seen might be, behold, the men having been sent from Cornelius, having made inquiry for Simon's house, stood at the gate,

But having risen, go down, and depart with them, nothing doubting, because I have sent them.

So having called them in, he lodged them. And on the next day, having risen up, he went forth with them, and certain of the brothers, those from Joppa, accompanied him.

And we witnessed of all things which H e did both in the region of the Jews, and Jerusalem; W hom also they put to death, having hanged on a tree.
