The Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ

Will the Lord Jesus Return to the Earth?

The Book of Revelation depicts a glorious return of our Lord Jesus Christ to the earth, which we refer to as the second coming of the Lord Jesus to earth. Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God who is One with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit from eternity. He came down from heaven as God and Human to give the bread of life to the world. “Indeed the bread of God is the One coming down from heaven and giving life to the world.” — John 6:33. He was crucified and died for the sins of the world, rose again on the third day, ascended to heaven, and is seated at the Father’s right hand.

So, will the Lord Jesus come back as He promised to His disciples? “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I am coming again, and will receive you to Myself; that where I am, you may be also.” — John 14:3.

Do the Gospels teach us about the second coming of our Lord Jesus to the earth and about the time of His return? We provide extensive comments about the second coming of the Lord Jesus to the earth and the end times in Matthew 13, Matthew 24, Matthew 25, Mark 13, and Luke 21. We invite you to read the comments in these chapters!

All Christians should live their life daily with this hope of the glorious return of the Lord Jesus to the earth and believe that one day we will be with Him for eternity on the new earth in His kingdom.

When is the Lord Jesus Christ Returning to the Earth to Take His Bride?

In Matthew 13, the Lord Jesus talks in parables about the Kingdom of God. The parable of the weeds in Matthew 13:24-30 tells us that the church is mingled (wheat and weeds) until the end times and we need to study and meditate on the Word of God to be able to know the difference between the truth and error in the church. In Comments Matthew 13:30 we talk about the Lord Jesus judging His house and we present brief notes on the second coming of the Lord.

In Matthew 24, the Lord Jesus and His disciples were on the Mount of Olives. His disciples asked Him privately, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Thy coming, and of the consummation of the age?” In His answer, the Lord Jesus covers three subject matters: warnings for the believers, all the troubles that will happen in the world, and His time of return. The Lord has warned all believers before time what will happen to the world and about the Lord’s return, but the rest of the world needs to read the Bible by themselves and learn to pray. All the matters the Lord described in this chapter will indeed happen to the world. When the Lord gives warnings in the Bible, we must be ready because it will happen. In Comments Matthew 24:3 we offer comments on the temple of the Lord that will help understand end time events. Moreover, within this chapter, we provide comments related to: the Lord’s warnings to the believers, the Lord’s discourse about the troubles that will happen to the world, and the Lord’s time of return.

The dialog between the Lord Jesus and His disciples on the Mount of Olives is also given in Mark 13. We give extra comments within this chapter as related to signs and warnings and in Comments Mark 13:24-27 we give additional explanations to the comments in Matthew as related to the second coming of the Lord Jesus to earth.

In Matthew 25, in the parable of the ten virgins (Matthew 25:1-12) the Lord Jesus teaches us that we do not know the time or the hour of the Lord’s return, but we must always be ready. No one knows the time and the hour; only the Father knows. No one can impersonate the Father and know the time; even the Lord Jesus Himself does not know. The Lord Jesus never portrayed Himself to know all, and in the Bible, the Lord Jesus tells us that only the Father knows the time. Trinity, but the Lord Jesus humbles Himself and accepts His role to be under the Father’s authority. However, there will be signs that will tell us that the return of the Lord Jesus is near. Matthew 25:6 tells us that “at middle of the night there is a cry, Behold, the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.” We provide detailed comments for this verse related to the second coming of the Lord and end time and comments about the marriage feast, rapture, and tribulation.
