Romans 10
Summary. In this chapter,the Holy Spirit teaches that salvation comes through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, hearing the Word of Christ, and calling upon the name of the Lord God Almighty; the beloved Son of God fulfilled the plan for salvation, and the Lord God Almighty calls all humans, both Jews and Gentiles, to become one people through Him. Romans 10:1-11: Everyone who believes on the Lord Jesus Christ will be saved and will not be put to shame. God the Father sent His beloved Son, Jesus Christ, to be born as a human and be the path of righteousness for all humans. The beloved Son of God gave up His human life to give the true life for those who confess the Lord Jesus and believe that God raised Him from the dead. Romans 10:12-17: Faith comes through the hearing of the Word of Christ. The beloved Son of God was crucified to fulfill the plan for salvation. God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit, all Three in One: One God for all humans. The Holy Bible tells all humans to call upon the name of the Lord God Almighty, not only to know His name, but to meditate on and follow His commandments. The proclamation of the good news for the soul to be saved happens by the mercy of the Lord God Almighty. Romans 10:18-21: The Lord God Almighty speaks through His prophets of old concerning the salvation of the Gentiles and the unbelief of Israel. The word given through the prophets has been made known to all humans. Humans have knowledge of who the Lord God Almighty is and that He has chosen a people out for His own. The Lord God Almighty calls all whose hearts are willing to follow. The Saviour of the world is the way for all humans to be saved and become one nation, yet many among the chosen people remain unwilling to believe.

Brothers, indeed the desire of my heart and the supplication to God on behalf of them is for salvation.

Give attention, all believers; the apostle’s true heart is also shown in this place: the love for brothers in faith makes the apostle’s heart feel hurt and worry when the brothers in faith did not obey and follow the teachings and commandments of the Lord with a whole heart, and let their hearts sway by human teachings. But now everybody has the Holy Word available for them. The Lord God Almighty has given the way for every soul to be saved by reading, meditating; not only the Holy Word alone, the Lord God Almighty gives the Holy Spirit to every true believer. The Holy Spirit dwells in the hearts of true believers and will guide and lead that person to follow the commandments of God. The Lord God Almighty never leaves or abandons His children; the Holy Spirit always is there, just go through Him and all of you will receive the help to walk through troubles.

For Christ is the end of the law unto righteousness to everyone that believes.

“For Christ is the end of the law.” God the Father has sent His beloved Son, Jesus Christ, to be born as a human in order to be the path of righteousness to lead all humans to come and worship Him. The only righteous human is Him alone: all humans must come under the blood of the beloved Son; there is no another way for all humans to save their souls.
“Unto righteousness to everyone ...” For the Lord God Almighty to accept any human soul to live in Paradise with Him: everyone that is covered by the precious blood of the Holy Lamb, the Father will look upon. Humans that deny the beloved Son of God will have no chance to enter Paradise, but only go to receive the suffering of punishment forever.

For Moses writes that the man having done the righteousness of the law will live by it.

“For Moses writes that the man having done ...” The Lord God Almighty guided His faithful servant to write down the law which humans who believe should follow. And that law is a permanent law that all humans must follow: the Lord God Almighty gave the ten commandments through the faithful servant to put down in the Holy Bible. And all humans must follow the written law that had been given.
“Will live by it.” The Lord God Almighty has sent His beloved Son to complete the law for humans. Anyone who follows the beloved Son’s commandments will walk on the right path to be saved.

However, the righteousness of faith speaks thus: Say not in your heart, Who will ascend into heaven? That is, to bring Christ down,

Humans, the created things, have no authority or power to go up to heaven by themselves in order to invite the beloved Son of God to come down on earth. For the beloved Son of God to come down on earth, it is the Father’s will alone. No righteousness of any human has power to make to have power or impact in order to make the beloved Son of God to come down on earth.

or, Who will descend into the abyss? That is, to bring up Christ out from the dead.

Humans have no power in any place beyond the ability that has been given from above. Humans cannot go to the death place to bring their own loved ones out from the death; then how will humans have power to go to the death place in order to bring the beloved Son of God from the death realm? Humans have no power above or below: because humans themselves have no true power on this earth to save their own lives. Not even imagination to keep themselves from death from this earth.

But what says it? The word is near you, in your mouth, and in your heart; that is, the word of faith, which we proclaim,

The Lord God Almighty gave the Word to His apostle to go out and proclaim it to all humans. The Holy Word regarding the beloved Son of God comes out straight from the Father Himself. The beloved Son of God was crucified to fulfill the plan for salvation. The work is fulfilled; the Holy Spirit has been given to all believers. Regardless of the place or nation where each individual is, the Lord God Almighty gives the Holy Spirit to all who believe. That is when the Holy Spirit has been given: the word of faith also is proclaimed in the heart; that is the meaning of all.

because if you confess with your mouth, the Lord Jesus , and believe in your heart that God raised H im from the dead, you will be saved.

“Because if you confess with your mouth, the Lord Jesus.” Anyone who confesses out with their mouth that the beloved Son of God is their Lord and God, when the person’s heart lifts up the beloved Son of God to be Lord and God for their lives, the Lord God Almighty will give all the gifts to that person: from the head to the heart to join, for the mouth to proclaim the faith.
“And believe in your heart that God ...” When spiritual heart and physical heart, both confirm with faith that the Lord God Almighty has raised up His beloved Son, and believe that the beloved Son of God in human form was raised up and went to heaven to be with the Father, the Holy Bible describes very clearly where He belongs; that person is saved.

The heart of true believer that is full of faith and obedience: that heart helps the spiritual heart to follow the Lord God Almighty commandments. The blessings and the path of physical life pour down to help the person to walk in the right path. The spiritual heart, the heart that confesses, the confession of spiritual heart has power, and that will lead the person to follow the right path. When spiritual heart confesses, the mouth of physical will do the work.

For the Scripture says, Everyone that believes on H im will not be put to shame.

The Lord God Almighty has a great plan in saving human beings. The beloved Son of God gave up His human life to give the true life for humans who confess with their heart, and believe with all their being to have faith and belief in what the Holy Bible told them. The path for salvation is only one way: in believing in the beloved Son of God.

For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same is Lord of all, rich unto all that call upon H im ;

“For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek.” All humans are humans, but in the eyes of the Lord God Almighty also He has chosen some to be called His people. But at the end, all that call upon the beloved Son of God and are washed by His blood also will be called His children.
“For the same is Lord of all, rich unto ...” God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit, all Three in One: One God for all humans. Regardless of what kind of people and where they come from, if they have the same faith and come to accept the Trinity of God to be their God, all become one people together.

The Holy Bible tells to all humans one condition all should have: calling upon the name of the Lord God Almighty. This calling does not mean only knowing about the name of the Lord, but meditate and follow all the commandments that have been given in the Holy Bible. The Lord God Almighty wants to see the obedient heart and soul that have invited Him to dwell in their hearts; the soul that invites and follows all the commandments will be saved.

How then shall they call on whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe on whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?

“How then shall they call on whom ...” The heart that doesn’t feel and believe in the existence of the Lord God Almighty, even though in each day the eyes have seen all the marvelous things that have been created, the Lord God Almighty created everything for a purpose, when humans look around themselves their eyes also have seen the wonderful creation. The ear has not heard but the heart must acknowledge; but each individual must follow the voice in their hearts which is telling them that there is someone they couldn’t see who created these around them: from the unseen to be seen things for the eyes to see, only the power of the Lord God Most High can do that.
“And how shall they believe on whom ...” Give attention; if the ear has never heard on the name of the Creator, the heart won’t have a chance to be a believer, but the Lord God Almighty, with great mercy, has let the human eyes see the marvelous gift of creation for all by created unseen to be seen for humans. All created things have been shown, and guide the heart to think and acknowledge the Creator.
“And how shall they hear without ...” With great mercy for the dull heart the Lord God Almighty has sent the workers to point out that the Holy Bible has told all humans about the marvelous work of creation. Every heart that pays attention will acknowledge the existence of the Lord God Almighty.
“And how shall they believe on whom ...” Give attention; if the ear has never heard on the name of the Creator, the heart won’t have a chance to be a believer, but the Lord God Almighty, with great mercy, has let the human eyes see the marvelous gift of creation for all by created unseen to be seen for humans. And how shall they preach if they are not sent? As it has been written: How beautiful are the feet of those proclaiming peace, of those proclaiming good news of good things!

“And how shall they preach ...” Humans have intelligence, but no human has knowledge of the will of the Lord God Almighty unless they have been sent by Him: the Lord God Almighty gives knowledge to those that have the duty to proclaim the good news to the world.
“And how beautiful are the feet of those ...” To proclaim the good news for the soul to be saved happens by the mercy of the Lord God Almighty. The path of the chosen ones, which come to spread the good news is the light from the good news itself for all humans to see and acknowledge. The heart that receives the good news will notice the light and be able to follow with a clear mind.

But not all listened to the good news. For Isaiah says, Lord , who has believed our report?

“But not all listened to the good news.” The good news to save the soul has been spread out; but the disobedient heart ignored the light which the Lord God Almighty, the Word, full of wisdom and patience gives; spiritual heart can notice the true light, but the dark influence tries to sway the heart and give confusion. When confused, let all believers go back to the Holy Bible; the Lord God Almighty, the true Word, always gives light to all that seek the truth.

So faith is from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ .

“So faith is from hearing.” Hearing in this place is not only the physical hearing, but also spiritual hearing. When both hearing happen, the word impacts deep in the spiritual hearing; the spiritual heart also will be printed with the word that physical hearing has heard.

And their words to the ends of the world.

“... Their sound has gone out into all the earth.” The Lord God Almighty speaks through His prophets of old many things: His children have learned from a young age what has been written. But the hearts that darkened ignored the warning and the foolish minds denied the knowledge which was provided for them. The love and mercy of the Lord God Almighty is true. He did not leave His children even when they turned away from Him.
“And their words to the ends of the world.” The word the Lord God Almighty has given to His prophets has also been told to all humans: humans have knowledge of who is the Lord God Almighty and also have knowledge that the Lord God Almighty has chosen people out for His own. And also, the Lord God Almighty is calling all humans which hearts are open and willing to follow. The Saviour of the world is the way for all humans to be saved: come and join to be one nation. The Lord God Almighty is waiting for all humans.

I will provoke you to jealousy by that which is no nation,
By a foolish nationI will anger you.

“First Moses says, I will provoke you to jealousy ...” The messenger of the Lord God Almighty received the word to warn the children of God: if their hearts are still darken and not follow the commandments properly, the group of people that shouldn’t be considered as nation -- those group themselves -- will make the children of God have fear in their hearts that they are more blessed than themselves. This is the warning from the Lord God Almighty in order to make His children to return and keep faith strongly as their forefather has receive it.
“By a foolish nation I will anger you.” The children of God turned their hearts and followed the people that blasphemed the Lord God Almighty; the Lord God Almighty Himself, will be upset to His own children; because of their waving hearts, they have forsaken the commandments of God that have been given to their forefathers.

Life and faith applications. 1) We all need to have true love for our brothers in faith and keep them in prayer. 2) The Lord Jesus Christ came to earth to complete the law; still, we all must follow the written Ten Commandments given through Moses. 3) The Holy Spirit has been given to all who believe, and the Holy Spirit testifies about the Son of God in the hearts of people. 4) The path for salvation is only one: believing in the beloved Son of God; one must believe that the beloved Son of God in human form was raised from the dead and went to Heaven to be with the Father. 5) The Lord God Almighty has chosen some to be called His people; but in the end, all humans who call upon the beloved Son of God and are washed by His blood will also be called His children. 6) The duty of all believers is to proclaim the good news of salvation found in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and testify to His resurrection from the dead; the Lord Jesus Christ is the only path of righteousness with God the Father.
