Romans 6

Summary. In this chapter, we see that the Lord God Almighty understands human weaknesses, and He has given the true light for the soul to follow. When we fully surrender, heart and soul, to be slaves to righteousness found in the Lord Jesus Christ, peace will accompany our souls, making our souls reach the eternal destination: the bosom of the beloved Son of God. Romans 6:1-7. United with the likeness of Christ’s death. The one who accepts the mercy, love, and the death on the cross of the beloved Son of God and is baptized into His death, that one becomes one in His death in the eyes of the Lord God Almighty. When the soul acknowledges the resurrection of the beloved Son of God, the sin within that soul ends with death, and that soul is reborn in the resurrection. Romans 6:8-14. Christ, in His death and resurrection, lives to God. Once the beloved Son of God gave His human life to death, the resurrection to life of the beloved Son conquered all. In the death of the beloved Son of God, and in His resurrection from the dead, He lives only to glorify the Father. You have received the baptism in the blood of the beloved Son of God; your own life died under the water, now your new life is living for glorifying the Lord God Almighty. Romans 6:15-23. Set free from sin, slaves to righteousness. The Trinity of God: all Persons of the Trinity must be obeyed. The Lord God Almighty provided the free gift of life with His beloved Son, Jesus Christ. When the heart truly accepts the true light and is obedient to the law of God, that heart will link the physical body to behave in a righteous way, following the commandments and teachings. When the heart and soul are free from the influence of the dark, it will make that heart and soul surrender and want to be the slave of righteousness.
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
Comments Romans 6:1 The Lord God Almighty provided the way out for all humans, but that does not mean that humans should continue to commit sin. Even though the beloved Son of God came down to point out the way, humans should not think that the Lord God Almighty has sent His Son to allow humans to continue to commit sin. When the heart has not repented and acknowledged the sin of their lives, the loving grace and mercy of the Lord will not help that soul to be saved.
2 May it never be! We who died to sin, how shall we still live in it?
Comments Romans 6:2 Do not think that after the death of this physical body, the punishment is over. The death of the physical is for a moment, but the eternal death of the soul is for eternity; come and repent before it is too late. The Lord God Almighty provides the way to escape eternal death of the soul; take His way before it is too late.
3 Or are you ignorant that all we who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?
Comments Romans 6:3 “... who were baptized into Christ Jesus.” Be aware, all believers, remember who you are. Your life is no longer your own. When you are baptized into the beloved Son of God, your life belongs to Him. The Lord God Almighty is the One who gives you a new life in His Son. When you went under the water, the old life also went down. When you came out of the water, the new life you live is not yours anymore.
“Were baptized into His death.” The baptism you receive is the baptism of death, that death as the beloved Son of God has given His human life to death for you, so when you come out of water, the new life is in His death. Your sins are washed away in that water, you are made alive in the death in human form of the beloved Son of God.
4 We were buried therefore with Him through baptism into death, so that just as Christ was raised out from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life.
Comments Romans 6:4 “We were buried therefore with Him ...” The beloved Son of God has been baptized in the water. The new life of all who follow His baptism will also have new life in baptism as He has. The Lord God Almighty gives you a new life in His Son. Be aware of how you use your new life, because when you commit sin knowing that your life is not yours, that sin you commit is against the One who gave you the new life. The beloved Son of God suffered death in human form for your salvation. Stay firm in faith and practice all His commandments. Practice without thinking that you are forced to do, but practice all His commandments because you appreciate and give thanks for His mercy who gave you this new life.
“So that just as Christ was raised ...” The beloved Son of God was raised up by the Lord God Almighty, so are you. Your new life after baptism also belongs to the Lord God Almighty. Appreciate and use this life to glorify the Trinity of God. Glorify with your might, soul, and heart, not just your mind alone.
“So we also might walk in ...” The new life you receive from the Lord God Almighty will be the life pattern for your soul. And your soul needs to glorify and give thanks to the Lord God Almighty that you are still alive in this body for the purpose of glorifying the Lord God Almighty.
5 For if we have become united with the likeness of His death, certainly, we will also be with the resurrection;
Comments Romans 6:5 “For if we have become united with ...” The one who accepts the mercy, love, and the death on the cross of the beloved Son of God and is baptized into His death, that one becomes one in His death in the eyes of the Lord God Almighty.
“We will also be with the resurrection.” That one will also be united with the resurrection of the beloved Son of God.
6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with, so that the body of sin might be abolished, that we are no longer slaves to sin;
Comments Romans 6:6 “... our old man was crucified with.” When the soul accepts the suffering of life of the body and does not deny the mercy of the Lord, and the soul accepts the death of the Lord Jesus for their sins, within that soul, the sins of the soul will also be dead with that acceptance.
“So that the body of sin ...” When the soul acknowledges the resurrection of the beloved Son of God, the sin within that soul ends with death, and that soul is reborn in the resurrection.
7 for the one that died is justified from sin.
Comments Romans 6:7 When a person accepts the love and mercy of the beloved Son of God, that person has been reborn in faith, and a new life begins. And the Lord God Almighty accepts that person to be reborn under the umbrella of the Son.
8 Now, if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with Him;
Comments Romans 6:8 “Now, if we died with Christ.” Whoever accepts the salvation of the beloved Son also accepts the new life in Him and follows His commandments and spends the new life truly in faith and obeys the commandments that have been written.
“We believe that we ...” When baptized under the Trinity of God, the soul itself is reborn under the blood of the beloved Son of God that was shed on the cross. The new life is not only for this world, but for the world to come, and will follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit to be able to follow all commandments; reading, meditating, and practicing all the commandments that have been written down in the Holy Bible.
9 knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dies no more; death no more has dominion over Him.
Comments Romans 6:9 “Knowing that Christ being raised ...” The beloved Son of God in human form gave up His human life for all humans. But He is God, so death has no power over Him. The resurrection happened to let all know that death may have power over all living, but does not have power over Him. The beloved Son of God in human form gave up His life in order to face death itself.
“Death no more has dominion over Him.” Once the beloved Son of God gave His human life to death, the resurrection to life of the beloved Son conquered all. The Lord God Almighty conquered above all; even death itself is under His feet.
Q: We believe that the Trinity of God created all things, seen and unseen. Why was it necessary for the Lord Jesus to come to earth and conquer death? A: God created death, and He gave power to death as well. The Lord God Almighty created death and gave power to death to end life, but death itself, when it sees that it has power to kill, takes itself as being god; that is why the beloved Son of God needed to come down to conquer death itself.
10 For in that He died, He died to sin, once for all; but in that He lives, He lives to God.
Comments Romans 6:10 “For in that He died ...” Humans commit sin and fall under the power of death. The beloved Son of God did not commit any sin. He has allowed death to take His human life to condemn the death itself for taking the human life that has no sin. The authority of death crossed the boundary when taking human life without sin.
“But in that He lives ...” In the death of the beloved Son of God, and in His resurrection from the dead, He lives only to glorify the Father. The death has no power over Him any longer.
11 So you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but living to God in Christ Jesus.
Comments Romans 6:11 “... to be dead indeed to sin.” When the heart accepts the mercy of the beloved Son of God for their soul, that heart will link the soul to be firm and want to stay in faith in the Lord God Almighty to the end of physical life.
“But living to God in Christ Jesus.” The soul leads the heart, which will make the mind stay faithful during living on this earth. Worshipping the Lord God Almighty in the physical world leads the soul to go to heaven.
12 Therefore, let not sin reign in your mortal body, in order to obey its desires;
Comments Romans 6:12 “Let not sin reign in your mortal body.” The strength received from the soul is what will help keep the mind to be free from committing sin. The mind will help the heart to stay in faith and glorify the beloved Son of God in truth.
“In order to obey its desires.” The true faith of the soul helps the person to remain faithful and follow the commandments, which will make sin have no power to withhold the mind and the desire from glorifying the true One. The soul belongs to the Lord God Almighty and needs to stay firm and follow the commandments.
13 neither present your members as weapons of injustice to sin; but present yourselves to God, as alive from the dead, and your members as weapons of righteousness to God.
Comments Romans 6:13 “... as weapons of injustice to sin.” The Lord God Almighty has given to everyone specific abilities to fight against the dark power. But each person needs to recognize and glorify the Lord God Almighty. And when the situation changes, and you notice the dark power coming against your life, come back to the teachings and commandments and use that as a weapon to fight against it. And that will help the soul not to commit sin against the Lord God Almighty.
“But present yourselves to God ...” You have received the baptism in the blood of the beloved Son of God; your own life died under the water, now your new life is living for glorifying the Lord God Almighty. Keep your mind and behavior in accordance with the commandments of the Word of God.
“And your members as weapons ...” Use all your abilities and gifts that have been given to you as offerings to the Lord God Almighty in fighting against all unrighteous things of this life, and your life will have pleasant gifts to offer in glorifying the Lord God Almighty.
14 For sin will not have dominion over you, for you are not under law, but under grace.
Comments Romans 6:14 “For sin will not have dominion over you ...” The soul and physical that follow the guidance and commandments of the Word of God will be the clean vessel to offer to the Lord God Almighty. In each soul in which the Holy Spirit resides within, He will help that soul to be the perfect offering in glorifying the Lord God Almighty.
“For you are not under law ...” The Holy Spirit in your soul covers you, and makes you be a pleasing offering, and also gives you the ability to fight against the sin that comes your way and keep your physical body clean from all the unrighteous activities.
15 What then? Shall we sin, because we are not under law, but under grace? Let it not be!
Comments Romans 6:15 “Shall we sin, because we are not ...” All believers, be aware! The Lord God Almighty has given commandments for all souls to obey, but the Lord God Almighty also sent the beloved Son of God out of love and mercy to save all humans. The Trinity of God: all Persons of the Trinity must be obeyed. Do not think that because you believe in the beloved Son of God, Jesus Christ, you don’t need to follow the commandments of the Lord God Almighty. Remember the beloved Son of God obeyed the Father’s commandments to the point of giving His human life on the cross as an offering to the Father.
“Let it not be!” The dark tries to convince the believers’ minds that if you do not follow the law of the Holy Bible, there will be no punishment. Because you have already been covered by the blood of the Lamb, the punishment will not fall on you. The dark tries to use the Holy Word to destroy your soul.
16 Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves as slaves into obedience, slaves you are to him whom you obey; whether of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness?
Comments Romans 6:16 “... slaves you are to him whom you obey.” If you commit yourselves to obey the beloved Son of God’s teachings, you are slaves to His teachings, but if you listen to your sinful nature and obey the lusts of your mind, which are influenced by the dark, you become slaves of the dark.
“Whether of sin to death.” When you obey the dark, you become slaves to the dark; the death of your soul will be in the dark place for eternity. Imagine that the darkness in the dark place is more than you can imagine. Close your eyes; you think that it is the darkness of the dark place, but that is not true. There in the dark, there is not only darkness alone, but suffering and torture accompany that darkness for your souls.
“Or of obedience to righteousness.” But if you obey the righteous teachings of the Holy Bible, the light for your soul is brighter, more than the brightness of the sun, because the light of obedience to the Holy Word is comforting and happy, which makes your soul joyful for eternity.
17 And thanks to God, that you were slaves of sin, and have become obedient from the heart to the form of teaching to which you were delivered;
Comments Romans 6:17 “... that you were slaves of sin.” Glorify the Lord God Almighty for setting the soul free from the sins of the heart. When the soul has been set free from the dark influence, the free spirit will glorify the Lord God Almighty, and also the heart will accept the Holy Spirit’s guidance, leading the soul to obey the true light.
“And have become obedient ...” When the heart truly accepts the true light and is obedient to the law of God that has been given to humans, that heart will link the physical body to behave in a righteous way, following the commandments and teachings.
“To the form of teaching ...” The Lord God Almighty has given the true teaching in the Holy Bible. When the heart and soul obey the true light, the true light will shine in the soul, and the heart will be free from the dark influence. In the end, the heart and soul will both come to glorify the Lord God Almighty.
18 now, having been set free from the sin, you have become slaves to righteousness.
Comments Romans 6:18 “Having been set free from the sin.” When the yoke of unrighteousness has been cast away, the whole unit will be clean and receive the true light; not only will the heart and soul receive, but they will also obey what has been received.
“You have become slaves ...” When the heart and soul are free from the influence of the dark, it will make that heart and soul surrender and want to be the slave of righteousness. That soul will want only to be a slave to the true teaching, and will turn away from the teaching of humans and embrace the teaching of the Holy One.
19 I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh; for as you presented your members slaves to impurity and to lawlessness unto lawlessness, so now present your members slaves to righteousness unto sanctification.
Comments Romans 6:19 “I speak in human terms because ...” The Lord God Almighty understands the weakness of humans. The body of humans was created from the dirt of the earth and retains the weakness of dirt. But the Lord God Almighty has love for this earthly body of humans and has given the easy Word, written down in the Holy Bible, for humans to understand.
“For as you presented your members slaves to impurity.” The ability of this flesh has limitations, and this weakness guides the mind. And in order to search the right way for the soul, the Lord God Almighty has given the light for the soul to follow. However, if humans use their human mind to search, they will not find the right path; but if the mind listens to the true voice from the heart, they will find the right path to follow.
“And to lawlessness unto lawlessness.” The one who gives the heart and soul to follow the true light will walk in the path of righteousness, and that one will follow the Holy Bible without delay or confusion because the true light will shine in the eyes of the soul to guide and not let it stray in a different direction.
“So now present your members slaves to righteousness.” When the completion of the link (slave to righteousness) occurs in the eyes of the soul, that soul will follow the righteousness that has been guided. Peace will accompany that soul, making that soul able to follow until reaching the destination.
“Unto sanctification.” The beloved Son of God is the end of the tunnel for the soul to reach, and the beloved Son of God is waiting for every soul with open arms. The soul that keeps walking until the end of the tunnel will end in the bosom of the beloved Son of God to be saved and have joy for eternity.
20 For when you were slaves of sin, you were free from righteousness.
Comments Romans 6:20 “For when you were slaves of sin.” The one who rejects the teaching of the Lord God Almighty, the ear of the soul is deaf to the voice of the Lord, and makes the physical ear searching and wishing for the things of the world, and gives reasons for a person to follow the human advice.
“You were free from righteousness.” When one rejects the Holy teaching, it makes them stray away from following the Holy Word. The soul disobeys the commandments and strays away, not following the righteous teaching of the Holy Bible.
21 Therefore, what fruit had you then in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death.
Comments Romans 6:21 When a person follows human teachings, they stray from the Holy Word, leading the soul to suffer. The person follows the guidance of humans and rejects the voice of the Holy Spirit, which leads the soul to the path of destruction.
22 However, now, having been set free from sin, now having become slaves to God, you have your fruit unto sanctification, and the end eternal life.
Comments Romans 6:22 “... having been set free from sin.” When you follow the commandments of God, you are set free; keep in your mind the freedom you receive, free to you, but at the cost of the suffering of the beloved Son of God. The Father provided forgiveness and freedom for all who come with a sincere heart to accept the suffering of His beloved Son for their own sins. The beloved Son of God paid the price of sins for the whole world with His death on the cross. Come, receive this free gift with appreciation and glorify the Trinity of God with all your soul and might.
“Having become slaves to God.” When you have been set free from the sins, use that freedom and surrender yourself to be a slave of the Lord God Almighty. Because the freedom you receive with the great price gives you the right to be the son of God, let the remainder of your life be a slave to righteousness for eternity.
“You have your fruit ...” The benefit of receiving the free gift will keep you glorifying the Lord God Almighty, which will bring joy and peace to your soul in heaven.
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Comments Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death.” Anyone who commits sin against God, that sin cannot be forgiven, and brings the suffering of the soul for eternity in the dark. Regardless of how sorry and wishes for repentance in the soul, that chance has ended after life on earth.
“But the gift of God is eternal life ...” The Lord God Almighty provided the free gift of life with His beloved Son, Jesus Christ. The beloved Son has paid the price of sin with His love and suffering on the cross. Humans have crucified the salvation on the cross.
